by Phil Polizatto, WWH/CJE  - The Water Department came by the other day to install a small metering device under the lip of my toilet bowl. When I asked the reason, he said it would provide useful data concerning the amount of water I use, but I was suspicious. He tried to allay my concern by saying it would be useful not only to the Water Department, but to me as well. I might conserve more water after learning how much I really use and thereby have the incentive to flush less. He also warned me that if I tampered with it, it would set off an alarm at the Department’s headquarters, and they would immediately come out to see what was wrong. So not to worry. It was for my own good.

9-year-old killed by intruder update: ‘Huge manhunt’ underway (Video)

WS – Welcome to the new “Door to door.” search for every crime in America. White collar crimes excluded.

A 9-year-old killed by an intruder has caused a “huge manhunt” in northern Calif. On April 28, Christian Post reported that residents in the are on edge as police search for a suspect who is believed to be “armed and dangerous.” The little girl was stabbed several times when the intruder entered the home where she was left with her 12-year-old brother while her parents were out.

“We’re doing a house to house search and in some cases we’re searching extensively into attics and storage sheds. It’s a difficult area to search. It’s rural, it’s remote,” said a spokesperson for the Calaveras County Sheriff’s office.

The 9-year-old killed by the intruder was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The suspect — who is described as “a six-foot white or Latino man with long grey hair wearing blue pants and a black long-sleeve shirt” — may have done this randomly as the 12-year-old boy saw him and said he didn’t recognize him. More…

 CJE Sunday News Briefs
Fukushima’s Catastrophic Aftermath Continues

WS – The invisible killer. I’m talking media and US government blackout of this in the name of global corporatism.

In her book titled “No Immediate Danger: Prognosis for a Radioactive Earth,” nuclear power/environmental health expert Rosalie Bertell (1929 – 2012) said:

“Should the public discover the true health cost(s) of nuclear pollution, a cry would rise from all parts of the world and people would refuse to cooperate passively with their own death.”

In her article titled “Radioactivity: No Immediate Danger,” she coined a new word. “Omnicide” describes the ultimate human rejection of life. It’s “difficult to comprehend,” but it’s happening, she said.

She called industrial radioactive pollution “cumulatively greater than Chernobyl. We are now in a no-win situation with radioactive materials, where (it’s) acceptable to have cancer deaths, deformed children and miscarriages.”

Industry propaganda falsely claims nuclear power is clean and green. The nuclear fuel cycle discharges significant amounts of greenhouse gases.

It’s also responsible for hundreds of thousands of curies of deadly radioactive gases and elements in the environment annually.

“Claiming nuclear production of energy is ‘clean,’ ” said Bertell, “is like dieting but stuffing yourself with food between meals.”

Separately, she said:

“There is no such thing as a radiation exposure that will not do damage. There is a hundred per cent possibility that there will be damage to cells. The next question is: which damage do you care about?”

Bush’s “ Liburry ”

Bush’s “ Liburry ”By Sherry Pasquarello,CJE – Well, today’s the day. Five Presidents will gather to open the library of George W. Bush. I have always thought that having an entire building for one man’s presidential papers a bit arrogant but that’s just me. The fact that THIS man gets a building to rewrite his time in office, complete with all the newest interactive technology and bells and whistles upsets me.

Oh, the comedians are having a great time with Bush having a library. I admit I laughed at the vision of dozens of empty shelves and one copy of, “MY PET GOAT” sitting there but it was a bitter laugh.

The Bush apologist trolls have been hitting talk radio and right wing television for a week at least and popping up all over social media. A poll taken the other day even has Bush’s approval rating up a few from when he left office.

Really? Do we as a nation suffer from that short of a memory or do we really not CARE that he cost us so much “ blood and treasure” as the pundits have labeled death and disablement and bankrupting?

Richie Havens, Folk Icon, Dead at 72

WS – Sad day Indeed!

Brooklyn native opened Woodstock in 1969
Richie Havens, who brought an earthy soulfulness to the folk scene of the Sixties and was the first act to hit the stage at Woodstock, died of a heart attack on Monday, April 22. He was 72 and was living in Jersey City, New Jersey. Last month, Havens announced he would no longer be touring due to health issues.

From the beginning, when he played Village folk clubs in the mid-Sixties, Havens stood out due to more than just his imposing height (he was six-and-a-half feet tall) and his ethnicity (African-American in a largely white folk scene). He played his acoustic guitar with an open tuning and in a fervent, rhythmic style, and he sang in a sonorous, gravel-road voice that connected folk, blues and gospel.

WS – Is there any Nazi atrocities that Israel will not commit?

A Palestinian released from Israeli jails, Rania Saqa, has brought to light that the Israeli regime injected detainees that are out of prisons with dangerous viruses.

Noting that Palestinian prisoners suffer from serious and chronic diseases such as bladder cancer and liver disorders, Rania has revealed that the Tel Aviv regime injects prisoners with dangerous viruses before releasing them.

The released prisoner has asked the many institutions and the international community to examine them carefully.

Recently, the International Solidarity for Human Rights Institute warned that the Israeli regime uses and abuses Palestinian prisoners to test their new drugs, and this contradicts international medical and moral principles. More…

This Aint No Game: No limits In A Lawless AmericaBy Joe McEvoy, Editor WWH/CJE – Cy Vance, the Manhattan DA ,through his office announced that he will not prosecute the NYPD officer who pepper sprayed Occupy Wall Street protesters without provocation.

Inspector Tony Bologna, did receive a slap on the wrist though. He  was disciplined by the NYPD for violently assaulting with pepper spray, two women who were held behind mesh police netting during a OWS demonstration in 2011.  The department docked him 10 vacation days and reassigned him to Staten Island, to abuse others out of site of video cameras, no doubt.

Violent criminals like Inspector Tony Bologna, are not loose cannons, bad apples in an orchard of fine fruit or a minority in law enforcement here in the good ole” USA. Violent criminals like Inspector Tony ‘ the woman beater’ Bologna and Inspector Johnny Cardona, (Johnny ‘the punk’ Cardona sucker-punched a protester without provocation in full view of the press during an Occupy Wall Street march in October 2011.) are the enforcers for the corrupt politicians, bankers, rich, and connected in this country.

Legendary album art designer Storm Thorgerson, RIP
Storm Thorgerson, whose album cover artwork includes Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, has died aged 69, the band’s management has confirmed.
A childhood friend of the founding members of the band, he became their designer-in-chief, fashioning a string of eye-catching creations.
Most-famously he designed the prism spreading a spectrum of colour across The Dark Side Of The Moon.
His credits also include albums by Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel and Muse.
His family released a statement saying he died peacefully on Thursday surrounded by family and friends.
“He had been ill for some time with cancer though he had made a remarkable recovery from his stroke in 2003,” it said.
“He is survived by his mother Vanji, his son Bill, his wife Barbie Antonis and her two children Adam and Georgia.” More…

SHAMEBy Sherry Pasquarello,CJE - I am so angry I have no way to really express the depths of it. I was going to list the names and the office phone numbers of the selfish, greedy cowards that voted down the background checks but then I thought, “anyone that is too frigging lazy to not already know who voted for or against this isn’t worth my time to print it up for them!”

As for those worthless members that voted it down, including the Democrats. SHAME on you all! If there was ever a reason for TERM LIMITS you spineless people are it. More worried about keeping your cushy jobs than protecting the people that you are supposed to serve. The next tragedy, and there sadly, will be one, you had better hide your heads in shame and don’t even consider making a statement to the media expressing how deeply you are affected. Hypocritical slugs!

And then, there is the FUCKING MEDIA WHORES- FOX news, gloating all the while knowing that their lies and spin helped create the culture we find ourselves in. Oh and a big” EAT S***T AND DROP DEAD” to the little wanna be Limbaugh( I will not name him and give him the publicity) who said the reprehensible things about the parents of those slaughtered kids!

Court refuses to open up Manning court martial

WS – Corporate Media has browned out the whole Manning case, except when the opportunity presented itself for Government propaganda. (Useful when your media company is also owned by “War Profiteers” and corrupt 1%ers.) Now their upset they got included in the “Browning Out”. If the Corporate media want’s to cry censorship, they should have reported the whole truth (Still Could) about the Manning persecution, torture and political imprisonment of this brave young man, the evil war crimes he exposed and the abuse of power our (Your) President is guilty of.  Free Bradley Manning arrest Bush Obama and leave the reporting to the alternative news folks.

A U.S. military appeals court Wednesday refused to give journalists access to documents in Bradley Manning’s court-martial.

The Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, in a 3-2 decision, rejected arguments by the Center for Constitutional Rights.

“Today’s decision flies in the face of decades of First Amendment rulings in the federal courts that hold that openness affects outcome — that the accuracy of court proceedings depends on their being open,” said Shayana Kadidal, the senior attorney who argued the case for the center.

Pulitzer for Reporting on the Biggest Tar Sands Spill You’ve Never Heard Of

WS – If you never heard of it… It never happened. On to the next article.

The online, low-profile, non-profit InsideClimate News won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting for “The Dilbit Disaster: Inside the Biggest Oil Spill You’ve Never Heard Of,” its seven-month investigation into the million-gallon spill of Canadian tar sands oil into the Kalamazoo River in 2010 – triggering the most expensive, and still unfinished, cleanup in U.S. history – which grew into a damning look at national pipeline safety issues and the hazards posed by diluted bitumen, or “dilbit.” Yes: same stuff in the ExxonMobil spill in Arkansas, and Keystone XL. More…

Now other Corporate Media and right wing Bloggers can cite the NYT when they say “Most Parents Agree”… Teachers should carry guns.

A Missouri School Trains Its Teachers to Carry Guns, and Most Parents Approve

WS – What Bullshit!  - The only source for the headline cited in the whole article… “With few exceptions, school officials said, parents have reacted positively.”

It’s not shit reporting. It’s paid disinformation and propaganda from the NRA and gun lobbyist. (Follow the money!)

At 8:30 on a cloudy, frigid morning late last month in this folksy Ozark town, the superintendent of an area school strolled through the glass doors of the local newspaper office to deliver a news release.

Hours later, the content of that release produced a front-page headline in The West Plains Daily Quill that caught residents off guard: “At Fairview School Some Employees Now Carry Concealed Weapons.”

That was how most parents of Fairview students learned that the school had trained some of its staff members to carry weapons, and the reaction was loud — and mostly gleeful.

“Sooo very glad to hear this,” a woman whose grandchildren attend Fairview posted on the Facebook page of The Quill, adding, “All schools in America should do this.”

drone CJE Saturday News BriefsDrones and Law Enforcement in America: The Unmanned Police Surveillance State

WS – Do they run on doughnuts? – Coming  soon to a neighborhood near you… Collateral damage.

The US is at the dawn of “a new era in police surveillance,” the Associated Press revealed casually last week. In a Chicago-based story about the growing use of drones and other sophisticated, unmanned aircraft for aerial surveillance, it noted that the Congressional Research Service considers their future use “bound only by human ingenuity.”The story focused on one Illinois legislator who has proposed a limit on how far law enforcement agencies can go.

But bills have been introduced in almost 40 states, and the Bill of Rights Defense Committee has two model ordinances to assist communities in the emerging movement against domestic surveillance drones. This isn’t science fiction, although the threat of an emerging Surveillance State does figure in my forthcoming novel, Dons of Time.

As I learned while researching, drones already fly pretty freely in US airspace. Law enforcement groups use them for search and rescue operations, for security along the border (mainly the one with Mexico so far), for weather research and scientific data collection. In fact, last year Congress authorized the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to open the nation’s airspace to widespread drone flights by 2015.

url1 Mad Enough To Spit! By Sherry Pasquarello,CJE – Yes I am. If we , the 90 percent of Americans that WANT gun reform can’t force our elected officials to stop worrying about their cushy jobs and stand up to the NRA then we deserve those clowns we have in office!

Get on the phones, send e-mail and letters. Talk to your family and friends and neighbors. Talk to strangers. Get the word out. Tell them. HELL, show them just how big of a fucking HOLE a semi-automatic makes in flesh and bone. There are photos galore and film on the internet of not only hunting but target shots into different objects. Ask them to look at their kids or grandkids. Say to them, “Imagine their heads blown off, limbs missing, intestines pulverized”. Too, indelicate? Fuck that emotion, that bit of civility. Those parents in Newtown had to SEE that with their own eyes. Those first responders and the hospital personal had to. The FUNERAL directors had to. There was and is NOTHING civil about this. Worse than the sick man that did this, is, to me- the DAMN NRA.

Even if I thought that their board members really cared about the 2nd amendment MORE than their ties to the gun manufacturers, they STILL should rot in hell when their time comes. They can’t be that lacking in COMMON SENSE and DECENCY.

38.si CJE Thursday News BriefsDocuments show IRS reads emails without a warrant

WS – The US government lets the private corporation Stratfor to do it. Why is this news?  This is the New America after all.

Stratfor | Global Intelligence News & Analysis | Geopolitical News

New information received by the ACLU regarding the Internal Revenue Service after a Freedom of Information Act request filed last year indicates that the agency does not feel it is necessary to obtain a warrant before reading Americans’ emails.

The ACLU sought to obtain disclosure from the IRS about the practices of its Criminal Tax Division, which, as its name implies, essentially oversees the initiation of criminal and civil litigation on tax-related charges.

Though the IRS complied within a reasonable amount of time, divulging 247 pages of documentation in response to the ACLU’s FOIA request, the civil rights group says it avoided directly answering whether it considers warrants necessary before reading private email communications. The agency did, however, essentially disclose that it did not think Internet users had “any privacy expectations” when using email. A 2009 IRS Search Warrant Handbook stated as much:

“The Fourth Amendment does not protect communications held in electronic storage, such as email messages stored on a server, because internet users do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in such communications.” More…

When an Immigration Reform Doesn’t Do the Trick

Submitted by worldwide hippies on Tue, 04/09/2013 - 13:21

  • Op-Ed

By Milva Milenova Matseva,CJE - It’s called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.

This is what a friend of mine posted on facebook a few weeks ago.

Dora Videva, a Russian-Bulgarian graduate of an American university is currently working in Germany. Her job is exactly by her major, she has her first car and an apartment, plus the freedom to be out of her low-income, bad-economy country.

But she wants to go back.

As a European citizen she can travel the whole European Union with no problems, she can work and live in any European Union country she wants. Except, she doesn’t want to live in any.

“I want to go back home.” She says. And this is all the answer she gives to the people who ask.

5 years ago, when her country was not a EU member, everybody wanted to go to the EU. Partly because it was so hard to get there. Bulgarians have a tendency to chase the forbidden fruit. And not only Bulgarians.

Videva’s situation is coincidentially developing at the same time president Barak Obama is pressing the Senate and the Republicans to vote on his new immigration proposals. Surprisingly, as we go around the States, we can see more people like Videva, who, honestly, don’t give a crap about the new immigration laws.

In times when everyone is talking about immigration reforms, getting papers, living the new life, European immigrants actually are going back home.

“Everyone thinks, Oh, America, wow! But when you actually stay to live here it is very different,” said Tatyana Josan, a former J1 student who decided to stay after her 4 month work and travel visa. She changed her status into an F1, an international student, and stayed to study in Bible College in South Carolina.

Judge rules administration overlooked fracking risks in California mineral leases

WS – Note the word-smithing…” overlooked fracking risks” . No… The Obama administration broke the law. This is Corporate Media “Fogging”. COMPLETELY IGNORED and OVERLOOKED are not synonymous.

A federal judge has ruled the Obama administration broke the law when it issued oil leases in central California without fully weighing the environmental impact of “fracking,” a setback for companies seeking to exploit the region’s enormous energy resources.

The decision, made public on Monday, effectively bars for the time being any drilling on two tracts of land comprising 2,500 acres leased for oil and gas development in 2011 by the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management in Monterey County.

U.S. District Judge Paul Grewal in San Jose ruled that the federal government erred, and violated U.S. environmental law, in declining to conduct a full-fledged environmental impact study of its oil leasing for the Monterey Formation.

index The Rich Are DifferentBy Sherry Pasquarello,CJE – I’ve been fighting an uphill battle with some of my right wing republican conservative friends over my belief that the very rich exist in an entirely different realm than most of our country. From cradle to grave the reality is so strikingly opposite of the majority to be almost a country unto itself. They say I’m just jealous or over the top in my opinions or that I’m bigoted towards the ulta-wealthy.

Check out WEALTH T.V. on your cable if not check via a computer. Here’s one day’s programming,http://www.wealthtv.com/listingstodayp2.php . This is the lifestyle. Now, I do NOT begrudge anyone their wealth (unless they acquired it in an unethical manner). I do want the rest of us to get a firm grasp on what it means to be truly wealthy. Until and unless we can see things through the eyes of those in that 1 or 2 percent we will continue to let them divide, use and abuse us.
