MBN is done as a collective.
There will Be No New Original Content Here.
The original energy of this project has dissipated.
The original function of this project is no longer necessary. This project was started in a period of low level independent media production from mainly established stationary collectives. Within a few short years the original producers on this site and others had blazed a trail of buses, RVs, airplanes and hotspots that would change the face of independent media saturation in the daily lives of average citizens. We believe in decentralization of ALL power and therefore have disbanded this site.. The MBN incubation chamber is no longer needed becasuse technology has progressed to the point of making mobile journalism accessable to everyone who wants to engage the process. We wish all the new media collectives and neo Paul Revere's the best of luck in exposing injustice. We hope that the public will not turn away from the hard truths you are telling inorder to spend more time giggling at kittens. And we hope that we all remember to FLOW... with the tech, the transportation, the renewables and most importantly the tactics available to us from both behind and in front of the camera.
To those responsible for today's DDOS attack on this site; we find it hard to belive that this, now defunct website full of historical documentation posses you any threat. This attack was clearly the work of childish nonsense or fascist corpo/gov paid outside agitators who can kiss our collective ass.

Hippie Digest: Storm Thorgerson, RIP – Berkeley Hippies Attack… – Laos Hippies during Vietnam – ‘Searching for Sugar Man’ – Ours
Legendary album art designer Storm Thorgerson, RIP
Storm Thorgerson, whose album cover artwork includes Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, has died aged 69, the band’s management has confirmed.
A childhood friend of the founding members of the band, he became their designer-in-chief, fashioning a string of eye-catching creations.
Most-famously he designed the prism spreading a spectrum of colour across The Dark Side Of The Moon.
His credits also include albums by Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel and Muse.
His family released a statement saying he died peacefully on Thursday surrounded by family and friends.
“He had been ill for some time with cancer though he had made a remarkable recovery from his stroke in 2003,” it said.
“He is survived by his mother Vanji, his son Bill, his wife Barbie Antonis and her two children Adam and Georgia.” More…
Video: Homeless Berkeley Hippies Attack Stanley Roberts
A pair of dreadlock-sporting vagrants in Berkeley attacked noted KRON 4 reporter (and SFist favorite) Stanley Roberts this week while he was doing a segment outside Amoeba Music on Telegraph Avenue.
The journalist, best know for his “People Behaving Badly” news segments, was preparing a report on problematic panhandlers. He soon found himself on the receiving end of some bad behavior by said mendicants. More…
WS – Do they run on doughnuts? – Coming soon to a neighborhood near you… Collateral damage.
The US is at the dawn of “a new era in police surveillance,” the Associated Press revealed casually last week. In a Chicago-based story about the growing use of drones and other sophisticated, unmanned aircraft for aerial surveillance, it noted that the Congressional Research Service considers their future use “bound only by human ingenuity.”The story focused on one Illinois legislator who has proposed a limit on how far law enforcement agencies can go.
But bills have been introduced in almost 40 states, and the Bill of Rights Defense Committee has two model ordinances to assist communities in the emerging movement against domestic surveillance drones. This isn’t science fiction, although the threat of an emerging Surveillance State does figure in my forthcoming novel, Dons of Time.
As I learned while researching, drones already fly pretty freely in US airspace. Law enforcement groups use them for search and rescue operations, for security along the border (mainly the one with Mexico so far), for weather research and scientific data collection. In fact, last year Congress authorized the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to open the nation’s airspace to widespread drone flights by 2015.
Judge rules administration overlooked fracking risks in California mineral leases
WS – Note the word-smithing…” overlooked fracking risks” . No… The Obama administration broke the law. This is Corporate Media “Fogging”. COMPLETELY IGNORED and OVERLOOKED are not synonymous.
A federal judge has ruled the Obama administration broke the law when it issued oil leases in central California without fully weighing the environmental impact of “fracking,” a setback for companies seeking to exploit the region’s enormous energy resources.
The decision, made public on Monday, effectively bars for the time being any drilling on two tracts of land comprising 2,500 acres leased for oil and gas development in 2011 by the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management in Monterey County.
U.S. District Judge Paul Grewal in San Jose ruled that the federal government erred, and violated U.S. environmental law, in declining to conduct a full-fledged environmental impact study of its oil leasing for the Monterey Formation.

Today is “Name Yourself Day” – Is Yasser Arafat to over the top?
WS – Will this lead to treatments for depleted uranium mutations too? Let’s hope.
Sioux Indian rights activist, actor, and former seeker of the Libertarian Party's presidential nod in 1988, Russell Means, has died at age 72 of esophageal cancer.
2 days ago I recieved this message from the Means family regarding the rumors of death surrounding Russell Means. His stay in the Cancer Ward was apparently getting a little "iffy". However, the rumor was to become prophesy today because he had apparently gone home to Pine Ridge to die.

Short Description:King of Tongo Dies
The Kingdom of Tonga is the only island nation in the Pacific never colonized. Because of its location and cultural integrity, it is watched by observers in Oceania as a potential leader in the global campaign to combat climate change.
KBOO reporter Michael Gene Horowitz reports on the recent death of its fifth monarch.
Dharma has apparently been murdered.
this 14 yr old friend has a lot strange stories to tell the other dead cats he meets in the afterworld.
He lived with me on the road most of the 7 years of travel we shared. He endured Manhattan, post Katrina New Orleans, RNC, DNC, Pine Ridge, Rainbow Gathering, Malibu... he met a lot of cool people on the journey who loved him .. and seems to have been murdered by a neighbor. The last picture is what I assume to be his corpse found laying next to a box by the creek bed that had been ripped open by vultures. I had seen the corpse a couple days earlier when it still had hair. I suppose it's possible that it was not him but he's been gone a week...
Dharma's featured in the Old School version of our existence on the road.
