| NEW YORK, July 29, 2012--"We're fighting a fucking battle in a fucking class war"(KV lyrics) Organized by Shadow newspaper, here's KV and other musical acts during the anniversary celebrations at Tompkins Square Park for the 1988 riots stemming from highly egregious police methods of enforcing a then non-existent midnight curfew, resulting in mayhem and injuries. This historic event led to radical changes in Tompkins Square culture as the forces of gentrification kicked, and kicked in with a vengeance. There are detailed accounts of the 1988 riots by Clayton and other. Filmed by Liza Béar. | Views: 1 0 ratings |
